Beautiful Mineaux has been busy stirring hearts down in Cajun country, but now she’s ready to scoot on over to her forever home! A spine injury left Mineaux paralyzed and she was surrendered to FBRN where she could find a forever home and receive the care she needs to live a long, pain free life. Mineaux is doing great and she’s getting around just fine by scooting or using her cart. She’s certainly wiggled right into the hearts of the people she has met while in foster care!
At just 17 pounds this petite girl could accompany you anywhere, but she will not tolerate being in a crate of any kind. She loves children, and Mineaux would love to have a home with children who are understanding and gentle.
Mineaux likes to be the boss when it comes to interactions with other dogs. She barks at her foster fur-siblings when they play and wrestle in an attempt to make them stop. Mineaux even chases the 50 pound Bassett Hound who happens to be a big scaredy-cat! Speaking of cats, Mineaux is allergic and shouldn’t be placed in a home with indoor cats. Her allergies are kept under control by feeding a raw diet and potential adopters should continue with that diet, which is more expensive than many.
She is loving and sweet, but Mineaux can be quite the daredevil! She isn’t afraid to jump off of anything (bed, sofa, stair, etc) and needs someone who can keep a close eye on her to prevent injury. Mineaux is a true Velcro dog who always wants to be close to her people. She is vocal about what she wants and will let you know if she is unhappy! If, for example, her legs get in front of her and she can't scoot where she wants to go, she will bark and let you know she needs a little help! Mineaux loves chewing on her bones and playing tug with her stuffed Dragon, but her favorite activity is doing everything that her people are doing!
Mineaux is fecal and urine incontinent. She has a full wardrobe of diapers and adorable outfits that she loves to wear. We think she will thrive in any type of home as long as she has someone who is always there with her. Experience with disabled dogs would be a plus, but certainly not necessary. Mineaux is allergic to cats, but older children and other dogs in the household would be just fine with her! She enjoys being part of the action. Mineaux would make a fantastic office companion. She loves getting out in her pink stroller and meeting new people, but she'll always keep a close eye on her foster mom.
Here are a few words from her foster mom, “Mineaux is my first spinal injury, diapered baby. This was a learning experience for both of us but not as hard as you might think, easy in fact! She is a very sweet and loving girl and fostering has been a wonderful experience for our family.”
If you think you and Mineaux might be as good together as chicken and sausage gumbo, then please apply for her today! She’d love to wiggle her way right into your daily routine, and we know it would be a wonderfully rewarding experience.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo; adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
Hang in there, Mineaux! Corgi George Michael and fellow frenchie Pablo Honey send lots of kisses and hopes for your good health!
For Simon, Leyna, and Minneaux, wishing you great vet visits and loving forever families! Fondly, The Howell Young's
