Lucille has several allergies, including storage mites, and must remain on her current raw diet, regular Cytopoint shots (check with your vet--60-70$/mo), supplements, Omega-3 Pet supplements. and have regular medicated baths. She takes Loratadine (Claritin) as needed for allergies. Lucille is allergic to human epithelia (dead skin cells), feathers and wool so must not sleep in the human bed, and must avoid feather pillows, down and wool blankets, and wool rugs. She is allergic to cats so she must never be around them.
Lucille has exhibited aggressive behavior and is a resource guarder so she must never be around small children. She must be monitored during feeding and when toys are present, especially in the company of other dogs or if there are visiting children. A slow intro is required if there are other dogs in the home. Lucille has a high prey drive and must never be around cats, birds, or other small animals.
Diva Lucille is excited to announce…dramatic pause….that she has hit the available page! Lucille was surrendered when her family moved to a no-pets allowed home and she couldn’t make the transition with them. In true diva form, Lucille will likely tell you all about it with a proper “humph” and sassy finger…er, paw wag. She will never hesitate to show you her bossy attitude!
Though she is weighty for a Frenchie, Lucille keeps her figure pretty trim, you know, for the public eyes, and does not have a lot of health issues to speak of. She does battle the all-too-familiar allergies, but regular allergy injections and antihistamines have proven to help keep them at bay.
Now for the part of her report card that makes her squirm a little. Ms. Lucille is just a tad too bossy for her own good. By “tad,” we mean VERY. She has learned a few manners while in foster care, but her tendency will naturally be to rule the roost and push her weight around. It will take a firm (and loving) hand to let Lucille know who really is in charge. Most of her bossy ways are due to being a ball of energy. She gets very excited and just loves to tell everyone how excited she is! A good bit of exercise should help with that energy. Please tell us about your experience with bossy bitches. That's britches. Bossy britches.
Lucille is super active and loves nothing more than a good, long walk. She also really loves a good toy and will carry them around the house or play a feisty game of tug-of-war. She can also curl up with a good movie or on a hammock to sunbathe, as long as no squirrels come to check her out.
Even though Lucille loves kids, she needs to be around older, dog-savvy children only, given her energetic, excitable behavior. She does do well with other dogs after a proper introduction, but she is a resource guarder, making an only-dog home best for diva Lucille. She is allergic to cats, so a cat-free house is a must. Lucille’s new family will need to keep in mind that she is allergic to human dander and therefore cannot sleep in bed with her people or on feather pillows.
Lucille will do well in a house or apartment, but she does seem to love the bustle and lights of city life. Her energy level demands a fenced yard, however. She is not crate-trained, but she will likely catch on with a patient and firm human. She gets so excited with people that a career as an office dog is probably not in her future. But she loves having the house to herself during the day with a midday break to stretch her legs.
Here is what Lucille’s foster mom has to say: “Lucille had the biggest smile I have ever seen! She is happy and loves adventures and will Frenchie talk when she wants to play with you. We call her body posture when she talks to us - a little seal- Lucille. She is very bright, charismatic, beautiful and sensitive.”
Ready for a diva Frenchie to claim your home as her own? Click on the link to apply and let us know why she’d make the perfect addition to your family. Be prepared to travel to the commonwealth of Massachusetts to pick her up, as she will not be shipped. At 35 pounds, Lucille is too large to fly in cabin.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
Dear Lucille, We want you to be healthy and happy and find your forever home soon! And this gift is in honor of our most beautiful, brave and gentle girl we new, Stella, that left us way too soon.. Love, Deni & Peter
I have a little "b" too, and Coco is 9 years and is the BOSS, so I hope she finds a home where she can be the queen! Terri Hicks
