Wild and goofy Henrietta is ready to fly the coop and land in the perfect forever home. This gorgeous gal loves to chase, romp, and wrestle with the other dogs in her foster home all day long then take long naps and have snuggle sessions. If you are looking for a playful dog that also loves to snuggle, keep reading more to learn about Henrietta.
When Henrietta is not running through the house with the other pups, she is right at her foster mom's feet looking for attention. She also likes to play fetch with her favorite squeaky tennis balls and play tug-of-war with her stuffed animals. While she is a ball of energy, it doesn't take a whole lot to wear this princess out. After a short walk or about 30 minutes of play, she is ready for snuggles on the couch. Henrietta requires a lot of activity and exercise. Her medications cause her to gain weight easily, so activity will help keep her at a healthier weight.
Henrietta LOVES to be with her people and gets super excited about car rides and accompanying her family out on the town. Her favorite toys are her squeaking tennis balls, her bark box deliveries, and stuffed animals.
Henrietta does not particularly care to be interrupted by other dogs when she is the only dog eating. While she has never actually acted on it, she becomes territorial of her food when she is eating alone. She does great when eating along with the other dogs but if she is the only one with food in front of her, she will guard it and snarl at the dogs when they walk by. She has no aggression towards humans in this situation. She has also, on occasion, become snarly towards the other dogs when she is sleeping on a human's lap. This is typically a rare occasion as she is normally more than happy to have a companion to join in on the snuggle time.
Henrietta was diagnosed with epilepsy at birth and will require daily medications including Phenobarbital and Apoquel for her allergies. She is on a strict diet to help control her weight. She is currently on a raw diet with added supplements. Henrietta also has some environmental allergies and she is allergic to cats and birds, so her new family should not have them. Henrietta's new family must be prepared to provide lifelong medical care for her allergies and epilepsy.
Henrietta seems to enjoy the company of any dog she encounters. She would do best in a home with another Frenchie who is about her age and has the same energy level. Henrietta would thrive best in a home with adults or older children. She would enjoy having at least one other doggie-sibling. She seems to enjoy the company of other French Bulldogs to other breeds. This holds true at home as well as at her doggie daycare.
Henrietta is not fond of sun bathing or romping in the yard like most Frenchies, probably due to the heat. She is a velcro pup, always staying very near her people, therefore her new home is not required to have a fenced yard or a large backyard. "Henri" does enjoy being active in the house. A large apartment would be okay as long as she would have room to play. She is an explorer in the home so the more space, the better!
Henrietta has a lot of energy and would not be happy if she were left alone for long periods of time. She would love an owner who was home all day, could bring her along to work, or someone who could give her frequent days at a dog daycare. While she is very active, an office environment would be plenty stimulating for her. She joins her foster mom at work everyday and always stays close and is happy to greet everyone.
Henrietta can be adopted to a family near or far from NC, however, she would do best traveling by car.
Henrietta's foster family has this share about her, "Henrietta has been a blessing to our family. She is full of love and makes us laugh throughout the day. She has been a great companion to both us and our fur-kids. Henri makes friends everywhere she goes, we swear everyone in town knows who Henrietta is. With such a big heart of her own, Henrietta deserves to be spoiled and treated like the princess she is by an owner who is happy to give her endless love. We hope she can find a forever home who will continue to allow her to live the happiest life possible."
If you would like to adopt Henrietta, be prepared to travel. Henrietta is being fostered in NC and will not be shipped. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
