Edwyn is allergic to storage mites and must remain on a raw diet, Nature's Farmacy supplements, and Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet supplements. He must remain on regular allergy medications (he is currently on hydroxyzine for allergies but we are seeing if we can get him on Apoquel or Cytopoint) and famotidine as needed. Edwyn is also allergic to cats and must never be around them.
The moment you’ve all been waiting for….hunkalicious Edwyn has hit the available page! Just try to keep your hands off the screen as you see his photos and read his life story, we dare you. If you fail, we understand….we can’t, either! Edwyn was surrendered when his family couldn’t juggle new parent life while doing serious Frenchie maintenance to keep his very bad allergies under control. He has spent his foster time learning new routines to counteract the miserable allergies and is ready to share his handsome face with a wonderful forever family.
Edwyn keeps a pretty active lifestyle and counts his health as a top priority, so other than those pesky allergies, he’s a healthy guy. His allergy maintenance includes a raw diet, supplements, and regular allergy medications. This routine has provided him the most comfort and allowed him to enjoy Frenchie life to the fullest.
Did we mention active? Edwyn just loves to play, chase toys, and go for walks. Walks on a regular basis give him a way to work out his energy and keep that handsome smile on his cute face. He's very much a leader and shows how smart he is by catching on to routines and direction very quickly. But, at the end of the day, what good little Frenchie doesn’t love to snuggle on the couch and hear all about his family’s day? Edwyn practically insists on his love snuggles and family updates.
Edwyn will likely do well with dog-savvy children, but prefers older children who understand that he’s still got puppy energy and loves to play hard. Cats are a no-go given his extensive allergies, but bring on the doggy playmates! He’s very social and loves a good romp with a dog crew.
House or apartment, Edwyn will adapt to many environments. But, a fenced yard is a must because he needs his playtime. He is house broken and crate trained, making him flexible for working parents or stay-at-home families. He’d even make a handsome office greeter!
Here is what Edwyn’s foster mom has to say: “Edwyn is a handsome and special boy with tons of energy and love to give. Although he has many allergies, he is ready to be with a family that is patient and willing to learn what he needs to feel good and comfortable. He can't live with cats but loves having dog siblings to keep on their toes. He adds a great vibe to a home with his energy and presence. It's refreshing to hear him strutting and snorting around, enjoying life to the fullest.”
