"He is the sweetest, most lovable dog you will ever meet. He is such a happy boy, very smart and a quick learner. He is a really special dog and will love you with every ounce of his being. He deserves a very special family who will provide him with lots of love for the rest of his life."

Gallagher might be an active puppy that will make you laugh, but there won't be any watermelon smashing in the house. Gallagher came to FBRN when he was surrendered by his owner. She realized that going to work and school took more of her time and she couldn't give Gallagher all the attention that he needed to practice his comedy routine. She wanted to give him the best chance at finding a forever home and surrendered him to FBRN.

Gallagher came into FBRN with some pesky medical issues. Those issues involved his tummy at first, but they have been taken care of. He will require monthly flea prevention and heartworm medication. Gallagher also has allergies. FBRN made sure that Gallagher got the allergy testing he needed and has found out what types of items he is allergic to. One of the top things he is allergic to is Cats. For this reason Gallagher won't be placed in a home with cats. He is allergic to some foods which requires him to be on a limited ingredient diet. Luckily the food that he eats to control the allergies is available at most pet stores or on Amazon. If he happens to find some other food that isn't his special kind, be prepared for poo issues that take some time to resolve--because kids have a tendency to drop food or leave it where sneaky puppies can find it, we'll say kids over 12. Gallagher also is allergic to grass, so if his new forever family would be so awesome as to wipe his paws when coming in from playing he would appreciate it!

When it comes to dogs, Gallagher would thrive in a house where there was another dog. Since he is still very much a playful puppy, older dogs that like peace and quiet or small dogs( less than 10lbs) would probably not take a liking to him. Gallagher likes to have a perpetual play session with his furry friends. Having another dog for company when his people leave the house helps him stay calm.

Gallagher is a sweet, loving puppy. Maybe one of the sweetest that you will ever meet. He loves to make sure his people are happy and is a quick learner. He responds well when he is told he did something wrong. There are no aggression issues. At times he can play a little rough and will need to be corrected, but that comes with the puppy territory. He doesn't mind some puppy mischief so if you leave some food on the table, or a shoe lying around he might try to help himself to a taste.

Gallagher is 90% potty trained. It's quite possible that his potty accidents are related to anxiety. Gallagher will not tell you when he needs to go out. His foster mom says that he has never had an accident in his crate, and she thinks he is fully potty trainable. Gallagher has made huge improvements in potty training since coming to FBRN. When he does find his new forever family, they should be committed to helping him to adjust to his new schedule and expect accidents until he becomes accustomed to it.

He is crate trained. He doesn’t love his crate but he’s a good boy and will go in there without any issues. If he is in his crate and knows you are somewhere in the house he will cry. It usually takes 5-10 minutes and he will calm down. Then the more comfortable he feels with his surroundings the better it gets. He seems to do better if his other pals in the house are in their crates right along with him.

Gallagher would do great in any type of home as long as he has a little space to run and a spot for lots of potty breaks. That would help him to get out all of his puppy energy. Gallagher doesn't really enjoy going outside, he tends to want to come back in quickly. He does tend to explore, so if you have a pool area it would need to be fenced in so that he wouldn't have access to accidentally fall in. Pools--even fenced pools--must have pool alarms.

He would do fine with someone that was home all day or could provide mid day potty breaks. It doesn't matter to Gallagher as long as he has someone that loves him. Gallagher could go to the office with someone but would want to steal everyone's attention from the moment they walked in. Going to the office might be something he'd be great at in a little while when he is grown up.

Gallagher's foster mom had this to say about him: "He is the sweetest, most lovable dog you will ever meet. He is such a happy boy, very smart and a quick learner. He is a really special dog and will love you with every ounce of his being. He deserves a very special family who will provide him with lots of love for the rest of his life."

If you think your home has room for a zany boy who loves everything about life except being alone, then Gallagher might be the perfect dog for you. All you need to do is fill out an application and be ready to pick him up from his home in western FL if you are selected as his forever home! Though he's a puppy, he's a big guy at 30 pounds, and he's too large to fly in the cabin of a plane.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
